I'm not gonna write some hoity-toity review in high language about how the new Batman movie explores the psyche of a vengeful, anguished soul perfectly or of how I waited in line for hours and hours to see it because I'm just that hardcore into Batman. I mean, I like Batman but not in that way. (I meant "that way" as in I don't like him enough to wait in line for 3 hours just to get a decent seat. To be clear: I still would like to make kissy faces and babies with Christian Bale.)
Anyway, so all's I'm sayin' is... that it was really good.
I came really close to crying like 7 times during the whole two hours and thirty minutes, but I didn't want to disturb the extreme fans with my loud, obnoxious sniffles.
And I don't think I've been so tense during a movie before. The Dark Knight had the formula of escalation and conflict down pat. I was reading my creative writing textbook on the pot this morning (yeah, what of it?!), and it discusses a lot of how to create conflict since there's no story if there is no conflict. Yeah, chew over that one with any movie/show/book you've ever encountered in your life. Okay, a GOOD movie/show/book.
After I got done watching the movie last night, it took me a second to realize I wasn't in Gotham City. I wasn't in the same city as the caped vigilante, Batman. For a movie to remove me from my reality to its reality so wholly was what was so amazing about the film. And because I can't stop thinking about it from a creative writing pov as I do my morning "duties." Haha, get it?! DOODIES.
What's the closest thing you have to a time machine?

As far as going backward, pictures.
As far as going forward, I'm ok with the surprises that come with time.
I admit - I can't get down with weave or wigs on myself. With the exception of hella moons ago (see bullet point 4), I didn't think I'd don fake hair again.
Until last night.
My mom performed a skit at an office party and she wore a long, hippy wig for it. Then I took it. For two reasons:
- Cus it's silly.
- Cus she said it mad her hot, cus it went down to her waist. It was cold out, so I snatched that thing up and wore it as a blanket.
The wig was actually grey, but it looks blonde in these black and white photos. I think I like Goldiei en Blonde. You might catch me with some blonde extensions soon.
Or not.
But it was fun. And warm.
Untangling some neon orange yarn.
Practice at 7:30PM. Fat Baby after that.
Saturday is the Lazy Susan show.
Free Santogold show the day after.
I let Max cut my hair yesterday.
Today I had a convo with a friend and travel came up. I can't remember what brought it up, but it got me thinking. I'm making a list of places I wanna go (or revisit). First: list is California. Then I'll think about where I want to go in the states, then international.
- Napa/Wine Country - I grew up next to Napa. Literally minutes away. I've run errands in it and been through it, but never been to enjoy it.
- San Diego - Been there before. Would like to go again to see different sites.
- Los Angeles - Last time I was down there, it was at a good time in my life and I just always have such good memories about it. Gotta get back.
- Various coastal cities - Preferably via Highway 1. From LA to the Bay.
I love Run's House. I'm so glad this show's back.
(i luv how jus and joey say i luvvvvv you to each other at night and they look like they mean it. sure, it's tv. but, whatever.)
I've done it.
After several frustrated attempts to put something together, I got the grip.
My friend Tiane Rocha, from Scrapblog, told me about the Windows Movie maker. So I looked at it. It took a few attempts to get the how to make the photos last the song's time and stuff, but simple enough after I sorted that....only Windows makes you sign up with some video hosting people, which I then realized I didn't need, as YouTube asks you to upload from your computer....oh well.
This is nothing much, but at least I've done it.
I can see my dad's face when he sees it though....worth all my late nights.
Obrigada Tiane, nao poderia ter feito sem vc!!!!!
here it is,though it may not show yet as I dont think it's processed yet.
(it would be just my luck if this doesnt work!)
I was going to do self-portrait Thursday, but instead, my twin brother pushed me out of the way and put his stupid mug up here. He's a wanna-be gangsta with his facial hair and diamond watch from Jacobs and his barb wire tattoo and his emerald and garnet-encrusted grill and his teardrop tattoos on his face. What a fool.
(i'm waiting for my mom and sis to wake up so we can go to dinner. in the mean time, i have too much time on my hands. obviously.)
edit: My sister just woke up and said she had a dream that I had a mustache. A prophecy!
